The Point Park Ballroom's Social Track offers a welcoming space for dancers of all levels to connect and grow. With a focus on community and fun, it includes casual dance sessions, mixers, and themed social events. This track emphasizes enjoyment and connection over competition, making it perfect for those looking to dance in a relaxed, friendly environment.
The Point Park Ballroom Competition Team is a dedicated group of dancers who train rigorously to compete at collegiate and regional ballroom dance competitions. Team members focus on technique, performance quality, and partnership to excel in various dance styles. Representing Point Park University, the team showcases both skill and school spirit on the competition floor.
The Point Park Ballroom Formation Team is a select performance group that showcases synchronized ballroom routines at special events and competitions. Membership is by invitation only, with auditions held once or twice a year to maintain a high level of performance and teamwork. This elite team highlights precision, creativity, and the collaborative spirit of ballroom dance.

Our Club

Point Park Ballroom Club is a vibrant student organization at Point Park University that brings together dancers of all experience levels to explore the art and sport of ballroom dance. Through our Social Track, Competition Team, and Formation Team, we offer opportunities for everyone—from beginners to seasoned dancers—to learn, perform, and grow. Our club has proudly represented Point Park at multiple collegiate competitions, earning top placements in both individual and team events. In addition to our competitive success, we’ve hosted popular campus events like themed dance socials and workshops, helping to build a strong and inclusive dance community. Whether you're dancing for fun, performance, or competition, Point Park Ballroom is a place to connect, express, and thrive.

What does the social track entail?:
The Social Track allows you to decide on your own time when you want to learn ballroom. You could attend anywhere from 4 classes a week to 1 class a month.
What does the Competition Team entail?:
The Competition Team members are required to attend at least 3 classes a week and rounds.
How do I become a member of the Formation Team?
To become a member of the Formation Team, we host 2 auditions a year. Another way is to be asked by the current president.
What do I wear to class?
Active wear like leggings, shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, and more is acceptable. Please do not wear jeans or any formal attire. Ballroom shoes are lent out to committed members.
Are members expected to pay dues?
No, PPU Ballroom DanceSport is committed to providing free classes and accessible competitions for students of all levels.
